1. Installation :

The various files of this software are stored in a compact form in a file called CPHCINST.EXE.

Running this file automatically 'extracts' the components.
Such installation on a hard disk of a PC can be carried out as follows :

1.1. From a floppy disk

1. Put your floppy disk CPHC on a drive (e.g. A:)
2. Run the program with the arguments indicating the chosen directory, as follows :

Example : A:\> CPHCINST -d C:\PATH <ENTER>

• C:\PATH stands for the chosen disk and the chosen directory (you can specify a new one)
• -d automatically sets up a new directory of the chosen name and explodes the compacted files
  

Example : A:\> CPHCINST -d C:\CPHC <ENTER>

This will set up the CPHC directory on the C: disk and to install the software

1.2. After downloading

The installation is almost automatic

After downloading in the chosen directory, see section 2.2 hereunder.

2. To run the program :

2.1. Through MSDOS

Go back to the directory where the software has been installed

e.g. : (C:\CPHC) or (C:\PATH\CPHC)

or

C: <ENTER>
cd \CPHC <ENTER>

or

C: <ENTER>
cd \PATH\CPHC <ENTER>

 Tap ICODE <ENTER>

 NB : Use the cursor rather than the mouse, in order to use the software.

2.2. From Windows

Using the explorer, go to the directory where the software has been placed

Click on the file CPHCINST : the files will explode

Click on the file ICode : the software is opened (in MsDos).

NB : Use the cursor rather than the mouse, in order to use the software.


3. Possible maintenance of the index file :

 3.1. Would the classification system be modified (basic file =ICD9CM.DBF), it is required to reconstruct the index-file (ICD9Lex.dbf), which contains the relationships between the roots of the key-words and the CPHC codes.

3.2. Would new codes be introduced or old ones be deleted, it is also necessary to reconstruct the index-files as follows :
